Etihad's Wayne Pearce to be named head of Oman Air

Pearce was previously in a strategy role with Qantas before becoming managing director of the UK-based Gold Medal travel group.

He succeeds Peter Hill who is retiring to live in Sri Lanka.

Pearce who studied economics at McQuarrie Univerity in Australia and lives in Switzerland officially takes over the post today and an announcement is expected at some time today
