“As the national airline of the United Arab Emirates we are committed to growing and developing a highly qualified cadre of UAE nationals and empowering them to play an even greater role in our world-class business,” said Gammell.

Etihad employs Emiratis across its operational spectrum with UAE nationals now making up the leading nationality group in the airline and its largest nationality group at managerial and higher management levels.

Etihad’s UAE national development strategy, aimed at building airline specific capability, features over 20 specialised programmes across the business for graduate managers including sales and airport operations managers, cadet pilots, technical engineers, and guest services and contact centre agents. The airline recently added a two-year Graduate Finance Development Programme to its national development strategy and plans to launch specialised programmes in government affairs, network planning, properties and logistics.
