Held annually and regarded as the loyalty industry’s most relevant customer voted benchmark for the best airline and hotel loyalty programs, this year’s Freddie Awards ceremony took place at the Museum of Flight in Seattle on 24 April. The results are based on votes from more than eight million members of travel loyalty programs from across the world.

Randy Petersen, founder of the Freddie Awards, said: "Etihad Guest returns to win the coveted Best Loyalty Credit Card, taking the honour twice in the past three years in one of the more important categories of the Freddie Awards. Etihad Guest also finished among the top honours in all other categories."

Etihad Guest collaborated with ADIB to provide its members with a unique selection of three ADIB Etihad Guest Visa cards and three ADIB Etihad Guest Debit cards, enabling them to earn Etihad Guest Miles with every purchase.

Barry Green, managing director, Etihad Guest, said: “The Freddie Awards are the loyalty industry’s most respected benchmark for airlines and we are delighted to have won this award for our ADIB cobranded cards, which have proved to be tremendously successful in attracting and rewarding new members to the Etihad Guest program while increasing the brand loyalty of existing members.”

Philip King, ADIB head of retail, said: “ADIB’s partnership with Etihad Airways has given our customers real value, typically providing several free flights a year. The Freddie Award is a true recognition that the ADIB Etihad card is the best of its kind in the market, providing the highest number of miles earned on an airline loyalty card while offering attractive travel features.

The Etihad Guest program was also a runner up in the Best Promotion category for its innovative way of encouraging member engagement with the 2013 F1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Raffle.  Members could purchase raffle tickets to win two VIP Passes to the Paddock Club, two Pearl Business Class tickets and an all-inclusive three-night stay for two in a 5 star Abu Dhabi hotel.

Since launching in 2006, Etihad Guest has attracted over 2.4 million members and won 10 industry awards for its innovative program, ensuring members have the opportunity to accumulate Etihad Guest Miles on flights with Etihad Airways as well as with many global airline and non-airline partners ranging from hotel accommodation and car rental to retail and financial products.
