Starting on Tuesday, December 16, and running through to Wednesday,  December 24, the initiatives include:

Moonlight check-in: All Etihad Airways guests who check in during moonlight hours will be allowed to check in an additional 5kg baggage, receive a complimentary 5,000 bonus Etihad Guest Miles voucher, and be provided with one hour’s free parking at Skypark to complete the check-in process.

Located in the terminal entrance of the Skypark Level 3, and open daily between 1am and 6am, and 1pm and 6pm, the Moonlight check-in counters will be manned by trained check-in staff and baggage porters.

Moonlight check-in will be available up to 24 hours prior to departure for all guests except those booked to travel to the United States who require U.S. Customs and Border Protection pre-clearance.

City check-in: A complimentary shuttle bus service is being arranged to transport guests from the Abu Dhabi City Terminal at Madinat Zayed to Abu Dhabi International Airport. The one-way bus service is scheduled to run every 30 minutes during peak times between 5am and 8.30am, and 5pm and midnight, and guests will be allowed to take carry on luggage only, with checked luggage being transported to the airport separately using secured transportation vehicles that deliver the bags into the baggage system.

E-Hub check-in: Guests arriving at the hub will be able to check in quickly at a number of branded check-in podiums located in the T1 and T3 Departure Terminals. Manned by check-in staff, the check-in stations utilise Etihad Airways’ new E-Hub technology which facilitates check in and the printing of boarding passes and baggage tags.

Hub check-in allocation: To ease congestion at check-in during this peak season, selected flights will depart from Terminal 1A on Friday 19 December, when numbers of local joining guests are forecast to be particularly high.
