Etihad Airways' pilot takes on golfer Martin Kayner in 'Biggest Bunker' challenge

International PGA golfer and Etihad Brand Ambassador, Martin Kaymer, went head-to-head with Etihad Airways' pilot, Matt Dowell, in the heart of the Abu Dhabi desert as they attempted their 'Biggest Bunker' challenge yet.

The challenge was to see who could drive the ball farthest and best towards an Etihad Airways flag placed at the top of one of the area’s largest sand dunes.

As part of his trip, Kaymer also visited the airline’s training academy in Abu Dhabi to take on the Etihad Airways Simulator Challenge. This is the latest one in a series of challenges previously taken by sports celebrities such as Alastair Cook and Stuart Broad (England Cricket Team), Vincent Kompany and Joe Hart (Manchester City FC), Patrick Kisnorbo and Damien Duff (Melbourne City FC), as well as two Star Wars Stormtroopers.

Kaymer is in the capital city to participate in the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship, which takes place from 21 to 24 January. Etihad Airways is the official airline and gold partner of the golfing event, and earlier this week extended its sponsorship for another five years.
