Kip, who has more than 10 years of travel industry experience, takes up the role after two years as Etihad Airways’ Manager Direct Sales and Operations for the Netherlands.

Etihad Airways’ senior vice president sales, Jim Mueller, said Kip will bring valuable knowledge, skill and experience to the airline’s Asia Pacific management team.

“Iwan has a strong record of success in industry sales and marketing and his contribution to our start-up in the Netherlands over the past two years has been considerable.

“In the role of general manager, Iwan will play a pivotal role in accelerating the growth of our business in Indonesia.”

Kip said he was excited about relocating to Jakarta and the challenges of the new role.

“I’m looking forward to working with the local team and our industry partners to build on the success we’ve shared to date and to explore new opportunities for growth into the future.”

As general manager for Indonesia, Kip will report to Lindsay White, the airline’s Sydney-based Vice President for Asia Pacific South and Australasia.

Before joining Etihad Airways, Kip spent 10 years in sales and marketing roles for a number of major airlines, hotel groups and travel companies.

Etihad Airways commenced services to Indonesia in March 2006. The airline currently operates 14 weekly services between Jakarta and Abu Dhabi.
