Emirates Group marks International Women's Day

Emirates Group chairman and chief executive, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, expressed his appreciation to the women in Emirates' and dnata's workforce for their dedication and contribution on International Women's Day.

Sheikh Ahmed said: “Emirates Group is an equal opportunity employer, supporting Dubai and the UAE’s goal to encourage and enable women to actively participate in value creation for the economy and society. We are proud that so many more women are making their mark in the aviation and travel services industry in a myriad of roles – whether as pilots, cabin crew, engineers, on the ramp, at the airport or in our offices. They bring unique perspectives, and add resilience to our business. I’d like to wish all our female staff a happy International Women’s Day, and thank them for their continued commitment.”

Emirates and dnata collectively employ over 100,000 staff around the globe, with women representing 44% of the workforce.  Across the Group’s varied business divisions, women perform roles that span customer services, flight and ramp operations, technical services, security, logistics, catering, corporate functions, and more.  Over the past decade, the number of women in the Group’s total workforce have grown by 156%. Today Emirates and dnata employ more than 29,400 women from over 154 nationalities, and over 20% of supervisory and managerial staff are women.
