Emirates appoints Nabil Sultan to head Emirates SkyCargo

Nabil Sultan, whose career spans more than 20 years in commercial roles within Emirates, has been appointed the new divisional senior vice president, cargo.

Nabil takes over from Ram Menen, who retired from Emirates earlier this month. Prior to his new appointment, he was the Divisional Senior Vice President for Revenue Optimisation and Distribution for the airline.

He began his career with Emirates in 1990 in the IT department, and two years later joined the company’s management training programme with the Commercial department. Between 1995 and 2008, Nabil gained strong and extensive commercial experience, working in various management and leadership roles both within and outside the U.A.E, including being Senior Vice President for Commercial Operations West Asia and Indian Ocean, Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations Gulf, Middle East and Iran, and Senior Vice-President, Commercial Operations for Europe.

In 2009, he was promoted to divisional senior vice president, revenue optimisation and distribution.

Commenting on his new appointment, Nabil said: “Emirates SkyCargo is one of the leading air cargo carriers in the world today. I’m excited by the opportunity to further develop and expand the cargo division, building on the success it has achieved to date. Emirates SkyCargo will continue to focus on providing our customers with excellent service, the development of innovative products and services and building our global network and freighter operation.”

 

In a separate announcement Adel Al Redha has been named Executive Vice President (EVP) and Chief Operations Officer, responsible for Engineering, Flight Operations, Service Delivery and Airport Services.  Al Redha has been with Emirates since 1988 and previously served as EVP Engineering and Ops and has held several other roles within the organisation. 

Thierry Antinori has been named Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer responsible for Commercial Operations, Revenue Optimisation, Skywards, Destination and Leisure Management and Emirates SkyCargo. With more than 25 years in the aviation industry, he joined Emirates in 2011 as EVP of Passenger Sales Worldwide.
