Emirates and Fastjet enter into partnership
Emirates Airline and African discount airline Fastjet have entered into an agreement that allows Emirates passengers to buy tickets on Fastjet's network across east and southern Africa, The National reports.
Passengers flying with Fastjet will also be able to travel across Emirates’ network via Dubai.
The deal with prove highly beneficial for Emirates, as explained by Will Horton, an analyst with Centre for Aviation: “There’s no need to look for a partner in Tanzania and another in Zimbabwe since Fastjet has a base in both. As Fastjet grows with four more bases, the deal can be expanded. It has the potential to be very scaleable.”
Emirates has previously signed an agreement with Nigeria’s Arik Air to open up routes throughout western Africa.
