Embraer steps up its game with presence at IDEF

Embraer Defense & Security is stepping up its marketing drive in the region and is demonstrating that with its participation at this week's International Defence Industry Fair (IDEF'13), which takes place May 7-10 at the Tüyap Fair & Exhibition Center, in Istanbul, Turkey.

The Brazilian manufacturer is showing details of a broad range of its products including the A-29 Super Tucano light attack airplane and advanced trainer and the KC-390 military airlifter and tanker. The Super Tucano was recently selected for the U.S. Air Force’s Light Air Support program to perform counter insurgency missions in Afghanistan.
The KC-390, which is currently under development, has 60 letters of intent to purchase from six nations and Embraer says, will set a new standard for medium-sized military transport aircraft, in terms of performance and payload capacity.
Its first flight is scheduled for 2014, with deliveries to begin in 2016.


Embraer’s Defense & Security portfolio also includes a family of Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) aircraft, state-of-the-art radar technologies, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), and advanced information and communication systems, such as Command, Control, Communication, Computation, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) applications.
