Accreditation from the International Business Aviation Council (IBAC) (IS-BAO requires flight departments to analyse processes and identify strengths/weaknesses in day-to-day operations. Additionally, it provides managers with tools and best practices to foster a culture where safety, efficiency and a commitment to continuous improvement are integrated into all operations.

A performance-based assessment, IS-BAO stage 3 is the final step in a rigorous five-year process. Each stage is concluded with an impartial third party audit. Upon completion of stage 3, IS-BAO recipients have implemented document-supported continuous risk mitigation processes, including feedback and tracking mechanisms. Successfully achieving stage 3 specifically requires an in-depth forensic audit, including a detailed analysis of operational performance data.

Elit’Avia now joins a small group of fewer than 100 operators worldwide who have successfully earned IS-BAO stage 3 accreditation. And, as one of the few European operators regularly serving clients in Central Africa, Russia and Eastern Europe, Elit’Avia believes that IS-BAO standards will contribute to the overall elevation of safety and reliability in these emerging markets. The company achieved IS-BAO stage 3 thanks to the professionalism of its team – management, pilots, crews and maintenance staff – who consistently apply safety management system (SMS) practices across all fields of operation.

“I am very proud of our team,” says Michel Coulomb, president and CEO, Elit’Avia. “IS-BAO stage 3 provides a compass for the application of best practices and risk mitigation, even in the most challenging environments. Attaining the highest level of IS-BAO accreditation acknowledges that a full commitment to continuous improvement is embedded in our business culture. We are now benchmarking Elit’Avia against the world’s best business aircraft operators. Our clients will benefit from consistently high quality service, reduced risk and higher resale value for their managed aircraft. Earning this top industry designation would not have been possible without the exceptional efforts of our entire team who proudly reflect the dedication to excellence embodied by IS-BAO,” adds Coulomb.
