EgyptAir denies reports claiming to defer the New Generation of B737-800
EgyptAir has issued a statement denying reports in the international media claiming to defer the new aircraft - New Generation of B737-800 - delivery due to recent changes to the country's exchange system.
“False rumours have been circulating about delaying our delivery plan of our order of New Generation of B737-800. No such decision has been made to change the delivery schedule,” EgyptAir CEO Safwat Mosallam said.
He confirmed that Boeing is on track to deliver airplanes to EgyptAir according to the delivery plan agreed upon as no such announcement had been made on the part EgyptAir.
" EgyptAir has finalised all formalities for the delivery. We are to receive the first airplane as agreed on time this December, [during the course of next couple of weeks],” said Mosallam.
