The deal allows Eastern Express to sell its tickets world-wide over the internet and enhances the quality of ticket sales for its customers at the various travel agencies, a priority in the model of Eastern Express and its plans for routes across the Horn of Africa.

At the same time, Eastern Express and its strategic partners are able to offer each other’s products online, which does result into a one-step online store.

Eastern Express CEO Alex de Vos (left), said: “After careful evaluation of the available software technology on the market, we came to the conclusion that Videcom not only provides a superior product, but also focuses on customer ease and connectivity into existing GDS systems. All very vital aspects for the enhanced quality of our offered products.'

The Videcom platform will enable Eastern Express to distribute its products to customers through multiple channels including direct to public internet bookings, direct travel agency connections, global distribution systems as well as IATA Interline and codeshare agreements with other airlines.

De Vos said Eastern Express aims to have the system in place prior to its operational launch early next month.
