Dubai Duty Free celebrates the Chinese New Year of the Fire Monkey

On February 4, Dubai Duty Free officially welcomed the 'Year of the Fire Monkey' with an exclusive Chinese-themed celebration in Terminal 3 (Concourse B) of Dubai International Airport.

The celebration was attended by Dubai Duty Free management and staff headed by the executive vice chairman, Colm McLoughlin along with some invited guests from the Chinese Consulate in Dubai including Consul General Ms. Lingbing Li, vice consul general Xuliang Ma and Lei Jin, commercial counselor, together with Chinese media.   

To complement the festive spirit of the Chinese New Year celebration, Dubai Duty Free launched a number of attractive promotions across all its retail outlets including a special 20% discount on the top 25 popular products for Chinese customers. These offers were housed primarily in traditional-styled retail areas featuring Chinese architecture adorned in red and gold, signifying good fortune and joy. The emblem of the Fire Monkey was evident along with Chinese staff dressed in traditional costume. 

The 20% discount promo will run from 2nd – 11th February and includes authentic Chinese products such as Chungwa and Panda cigarettes, indigenous Chinese Liquors like Kweichow Moutai as well as popular high-end categories in Liquor, Confectionery, Skincare and Perfumes such as Chanel, Dior, SKII, Sisley and Lancome to name a few. 

Colm McLoughlin, executive vice chairman of Dubai Duty Free said: “The Chinese are a very important group for Dubai Duty Free, a fact reflected in our employment of 705 Chinese staff, and every year we try to come up with innovative promotions and activities to provide our customers with a memorable shopping experience during this special occasion,” added McLoughlin.
