Dubai 2011: Jet Aviation beefs up its Gulf offerings

Jet Aviation has bolstered its service offerings across the Middle East.

The General Dynamics subsidiary is to offer maintenance for the Airbus Corporate Jetliner series at its Dubai facility by the year’s end.

Christof Spath, senior vice president of MRO and FBO services for EMEA & Asia, said: “With an expected six to eight local Airbus ACJ operators in the region, there will be strong need for proven maintenance support.”

The facility will also provide base maintenance to Dassault Falcon 7X aircraft by the end of 2011. 

Jet Aviation Dubai also recently completed the Middle East’s first ‘certification foxtrot’ basic upgrade on a Gulfstream G550.

The firm is also boosting its managerial teams in the Middle East and Europe.
In Abu Dhabi, the company has appointed Peter Lewis as senior manager of its new operations at Al Bateen Executive Airport. The firm has also leased 1,200sqm (12,917sqft.) of hangar space at the field for temporary use while its dedicated 2,400sqm (25,833sqft) hangar undergoes a full refurbishment.

Across the border in Saudi Arabia the company has hired Abdullah Al-Ghamdi as the kingdom’s new sales representative for aircraft management and charter service

Meanwhile, in Europe, Ruedi Kraft will take up a new role as vice president of market development and completions sales at Jet Aviation Basel effective from December 1. In his new role, Kraft will oversee sales for the completions business in the EMEA & Asia region.
