Diamond Aircraft is showing the prototype of its new maritime surveillance aircraft at the Dubai Airshow.

The DA42 MPP Guardian is equipped for offshore surveillance missions with a new maritime radar in a newly-developed belly installation, with a specially designed SAR Radome.

The aircraft is also equipped with an EO/IR camera, an automatic identification system (AIS) and a data-link.

The new Diamond DA42 MPP offers a cost-effective turnkey solution for a range of maritime surveillance tasks, including fishery protection, anti-pirate and anti-smuggling patrols.

Diamond Airborne Sensing and Scotty Group Austria are mounting daily live demonstrations of their beyond line-of-sight surveillance capability, demonstrating how live beyond line-of-sight video and HD imagery can be sent (via satellite) to a ground station in the company’s chalet from a DA42 MPP flying over Austria.
