The executive charter operator, based in Al Bateen Airport in Abu Dhabi, operates a fleet of Embraer Lineage 1000 and Legacy 600 aircraft, plus an Airbus A318 Elite+.

Satcom 1's Flight Billing allows AJ Aviation to sell pre-paid cards with specific data amounts (such as 100 megabytes) for Inmarsat SwiftBroadband use on its aircraft.

Mark Pierotti, AJ Aviation's COO, said: “Our aim is to enhance the service we offer our customers. We want to make it easier for them to buy and use satellite data.”

Flight Billing was launched at NBAA. All customers have to do is log on to a dedicated web site page, enter their pre-paid card's code and start browsing or sending emails. Satcom1 has personalised the web interface for AJ Aviation.

Flight Billing requires no extra hardware to be added to the aircraft and allows users to browse the internet, access e-mails, and send instant messages from their laptops, iPads, iPhones, or smartphones.
