DC Aviation Al-Futtaim sees increased aircraft movement at DWC

Ahead of the planned runway closure resulting in restricted activity at Dubai International Airport later this week, DC Aviation Al-Futtaim (DCAF) has seen over 100 percent increase in private and business jet movement this month from its base at Dubai World Central (DWC).

Holger Ostheimer, general manager, DC Aviation Al-Futtaim expects this trend to continue as private and business jet operators shift their operations to DWC. He said: “We are seeing an increasing number of private and business jet operators move their operations to DWC even before the planned closure of Dubai International. The increasing numbers confirms our decision to be the first integrated business aviation operation to be based at Al Maktoum International Airport.

“We also expect to see asset owners permanently shift their operations to DWC even after the runway refurbishment as owners and operators realize the convenience DWC offers in terms of easy access via the Dubai bypass, lesser operational restrictions and timely operations. By having no traffic restrictions and allowing the VVIP passenger to fly when needed and to being able to access the aircraft which is literally parked only a few steps away from the passenger lounge our facility offers all the convenience and comforts expected of a premium facility,” added Ostheimer.

DCAF has already put in place the necessary tools and resources to expand its line maintenance capabilities to include the Challenger 604/605 series aircraft. It currently supports the Airbus 320 series and the Bombardier Global Express type of aircraft amongst others. DCAF will also provide hangar-based aircraft interior and exterior washing and is in the process of establishing its aircraft cabin interior cleaning and grooming services.

The 5,700square metres state-of-the-art DCAF hangar has enough space to accommodate four ACJ or BBJ type aircraft of the heavy business jet category as well as two ultra-long range business jets such as the Falcon 7X, Bombardier Global Express, or Gulfstream G550.

The 1,300square meters of exclusive lounge area is designed to host local, regional and international VVIP customers and offers the highest levels of comfort and privacy, shower areas, a conference room, covered parking and an exclusive contemporary finish. Customers benefit from a dedicated ramp parking area spanning over 7,700square metres, on-site security processing facilities and the shortest distance between limousine drop-off and the aircraft steps.

At its facility in DWC, DCAF offers aircraft management, VIP aircraft and passenger handling, maintenance as well as business jet charter.

Under its Aircraft management division, DC Aviation is helping business jet owners to optimize their aircraft assets, by operating aircraft in an environment meeting the highest industry standards of flight safety and airworthiness, in line with the standards applied at its German Headquarter, where DC Aviation has revalidated its IATA auditing certificate, which makes it one of only eight business jet operators worldwide holding an IOSA certificate. At the same time, clients benefit from significant cost saving potential on insurance, fuel purchasing and other relevant flight support services.
