Eagle received this first XL order from the GCC region through its local representative Continental Aviation Services.
Eagle launched the XL series in 2011 on the back of increasing demand from an established customer base that wanted an aircraft tow tractor that could handle the larger, narrow bodied aircraft types. Featuring a standard four wheel drive, four wheel steer, diesel power train, the XL series offers superior functionality for moving 'single aisle' aircraft in all weather conditions and has enjoyed significant levels of sales particularly in North and Central America.
Falcon is one of the most successful corporate jet and helicopter service providers in the UAE and GCC region. Falcon's Markus Vogl, base maintenance manager said: “The XL represents leading edge technology in terms of pushback tractors and we believe that it is a very capable unit having considered other tractors as part of the procurement process. Eagle offers an industry leading three year/3,000 hour warranty and in situations where through life costs and maintenance regimes need to be considered as part of the overall package, this was a key consideration for us. We believe the XL to be an extremely capable unit that will make a significant contribution to our ground handling performance efficiencies and we are very much looking forward to seeing the unit on our ramp.'
Continental Aviation Services (CAS) is the exclusive reseller for Eagle Tugs in the U.A.E. Eagle’s president, Jace Morgan said; “The U.A.E. is a key growth market for Eagle and in CAS we feel that we have a partner that not only understands the market but who can also provide the high levels of after sales support that Eagle customers have come to expect and which sets Eagle apart from the competition.”
The XL tow tractor is due for delivery later in 2014 and both Eagle and CAS are very excited at the future prospects for the XL in the GCC region. Morgan said: “We developed the XL-series to service the ever-growing narrow-body aircraft market. We took 45 years of aircraft tractor design experience and engineered it into the XL series. It is a reliable, affordable, and highly functional tool for those that need to move narrow-body aircraft. We are very pleased with the early success we have had with the new design and look forward to future growth.”
