Cargo, logistics and Airports under discussion in Bahrain

The 2nd Annual Middle East Air Cargo & Logistics Conference & Exhibition 2015 (MEACL) and the Bahrain International Airport Development Forum (BIAD) 2015 opened today in Manama under the patronage of the Minister of Transportation of Telecommunications (MTT), Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed.

The event, includes a high level line-up of speakers, including Ahmed Al Nemah, Acting Undersecretary of Civil Aviation Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications (PICTURED RIGHT), representatives from the International Air Transport Association (IATA), Lockheed Martin, Munich Airport, SITA and ThyssenKrupp Airport Services, to name a few. The MEACL, is taking place at the Gulf Convention Centre of the Gulf Hotel in Manama, and is organized by Arabian Reach, in co-operation with the Bahrain Airport Company (BAC).
Raj Menon, general manager of Arabian Reach said more than 70 logistics service providers are at the event, which is expected to welcome around 150 delegates and 1500 visitor from the Middle East and overseas.
“The air cargo and aviation services industry has evolved over the years supporting the state economy immensely , which needs more support from the regulators and stake holders in the respective states to overcome various obstacles, which the involved players are facing now?. The regulatory framework, pressing issues and solutions to how to overcome the obstacles?, will be discussed at the conference, which is also expected to serve as an effective networking venue, where delegates can explore opportunities to build new or strengthen existing commercial partnerships in the region,” Menon said.
