CANSO outlines plans for Middle East ATM strategy

CANSO’s vision is to achieve seamless airspace globally. The organisation said this is particularly relevant in the Middle East where airspace users are seeing fast traffic growth constrained by fragmented, saturated and uncoordinated airspace
Its Middle East Conference will be held in Amman, Jordan from 3-5 February 2014) and provides an opportunity to make progress in these areas, the organisation said.
A major initiative that will greatly assist CANSO in achieving its objective of transforming global ATM performance and achieving safe, seamless and efficient airspace is the implementation of ICAO’s Aviation System Block Upgrades (ASBUs) methodology. This will set the course of operational improvements and aviation technology investments over the next 20 years.
With the recent release of CANSO’s guide to implementing ASBUs, delegates will be updated on latest developments in the Middle East by CANSO’s ASBU experts and learn some top tips on implementing ASBUs in the region.
