WAVE allows business aviation passengers to access the Internet and host videoconferences, and will now be available as an option on new Global 5000 and Global 6000 aircraft, and as an upgrade on existing aircraft.

Certification was achieved after flight hours and testing aboard Global aircraft, using Honeywell Aerospace's JetWave™ hardware.

This showed WAVE staying connected to Inmarsat's Jet ConneX satellite solution at multiple altitudes, angles and speeds, and different types of weather over land and water.

"This is an important milestone, as Bombardier is the first business aircraft manufacturer to make ultra-high-speed Wi-Fi services available inflight globally and the first to offer performance commitments for network availability and speed," said Paul Sislian, chief operating officer, Bombardier Business Aircraft.

By reciving certification, Bombardier has shown the capability of WAVE in providing passengers with seamless coverage worldwide.
