The Bahrain International Airport Development Forum 2016 (BIADF) which is set for 13-14 of April 2016 at the Movenpick Hotel, Bahrain is being organised by Arabian Reach with the aim of offering the aviation industry a networking and knowledge-sharing platform, as well as several lucrative business opportunities.

Mohamed Yousif Al Binfalah, CEO of Bahrain Airport Company said: "I am pleased to announce that the 2nd Annual Bahrain Airport Development Forum will feature the Airport Modernization Program (AMP) at Bahrain International Airport which aims to develop the country's aviation infrastructure and build upon the aviation based economic development with the intention to increase the capacity of the airport to 14 million passengers per annum.

The Forum will be an ideal business platform for companies to present airport and aviation-related products and services. It will also provide the opportunity to showcase the latest technologies and learn about emerging trends, network with key decision makers and receive first-hand knowledge about regional airport expansion plans and modernization programs in the GCC region.

GCC airports are investing over US$1 00 billion towards acquiring cutting-edge technologies and to ensure seamless and safer passenger and freight movement. This shift in trend from focusing on building bigger airports to enhancing passenger experience is generating business opportunities for local, regional and global companies aiming to access the highly lucrative airport development market in Bahrain and the GCC region."

"We look forward to this exciting and successful event and to welcoming our valued Partners and Clients to the 2nd Annual Bahrain Airport Development Forum," added Al Binfalah.

"With plans well underway for a major overhaul of Bahrain International Airport (BIA) over the next five years and the anticipated upgrade to the airport's facilities, as well as passenger and cargo handling capacity, this forum will provide an ideal platform to showcase the Kingdom's prospective aviation capabilities," said Raj Menon, managing director of Arabian Reach FZ LLC.

Menon added: "This event will provide a great opportunity to showcase the Kingdom's unparalleled regional connectivity and competitiveness as a major logistics hub. Boasting the shortest travel links between road, sea and air in the region, Bahrain is a strategically attractive access point to the $1.5 trillion Gulf market.”
