Bahrain International Airshow on track for success

The organisers of the Bahrain International Airshow 2014 (BIAS), Bahrain's Ministry of Transport, Bahrain Civil Aviation Affairs (BCAA) and Farnborough International Limited - have confirmed that chalet space for the 3rd edition of the Bahrain International Airshow is now sold out.

Amongst the latest companies to join the elite list of industry participants are:

    Thales, the Europe-based global technology leader for the defence, security, aerospace and transportation markets;

    India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), and;

    Tawazun Holding, the Abu Dhabi-based strategic investment holding company focused on defence and specialised manufacturing      

The event will also benefit from strong Turkish participation as part of the country’s growing international relations with the Kingdom. In total BIAS will be receiving military and civil delegations from over 40 countries, representing most of the key global markets, and over 20,000 trade visitors are expected.  

The level of participation is also high in the newly introduced Airport, Security & Surveillance Pavilion at BIAS, with Martin Baker, Safegate and Ultra Electronics being the most recent companies to take a stand within the feature area.   

Speaking about the upcoming event, taking place from 16 - 18 January 2014, Bahrain’s minister for transportation and acting chief executive of the economic development board, His Excellency Kamal bin Ahmed Mohamed said: “BIAS is a commercially-focused airshow that seeks to give aerospace businesses a personalised experience, offering easy access to high-level delegations and immediate opportunities for customer demonstration flights all within a dedicated site, and the level of support and attendance reflects the unique approach and offering it presents.  

“The event also builds on Bahrain’s position as a mature, business environment with open, transparent regulation allied to a low cost base and a highly skilled workforce, making Bahrain a strategically attractive place to access the $1.5 trillion Gulf market.”  

Amanda Stainer, commercial director for Farnborough International added: “Preparations for the 2014 show are proceeding according to plan and we are pleased to see that the distinctive business and networking environment developed for the show is proving its value. There are still options available to participate in the 2014 show including corporate hospitality packages and attending as a trade visitor. Additionally, there is also the option to exhibit in the new Airport, Security and Surveillance Pavilion.”
