Bahrain Airshow: Fly Comlux displays its revamped 767BBJ aircraft

Swiss-owned VIP charter operator Fly Comlux is displaying its revamped Bahrain-based 767BBJ aircraft at the show, which is possibly, according to commercial director Claire Brugirard, the largest VIP wide-body aircraft available for charter in the world.

The aircraft has been out of action for a while during a major mandatory maintenance check, including significant upgrades to the cabin.

The ultra spacious bird can carry large groups and delegations of up to 63 passengers in three different cabin zones, including a VIP area, executive quarters and an entourage section.

The refreshment features a spanking new carpet, and reupholstered seats throughout the cabin in a stunning light beige leather. Passenger care is paramount, and the cabin now features a brand new humidification system to counter the dry air issues that are common to pressurised cabins at altitude.

For those who wish to work or contact family and friends on the ground en route, Comlux has also added a SwiftBroadband connectivity system, offering the ability to make phone calls or surf the web. For those who wish to relax with a movie or music, there is also a new in-flight entertainment system, which passengers can access through iPads available on board.

Fly Comlux CEO Andrea Zanetto said: “Since we started operating our 767BBJ two years ago, it has proven to be one of our most successful VVIP aircraft. With this upgrade programme, we are investing a lot to provide an even more luxurious and modern environment to our passengers.”

He added that, since it had re-entered service, the charter sales team had already secured “many booking requests”.
