Aventus NowCast is a software system that uses atmospheric modeling and weather information to create high resolution wind models and data packages for the different segments of a flight, creating beneficial fuel and emissions savings for the airline. The airline also benefits as a result of increased efficiency and punctuality of individual flights and of the air transport system as a whole.

Sander de Moor, Etihad Airways’ senior manager for Fuel Efficiency said: “Fuel efficiency remains a key priority for Etihad Airways and we continue to explore all available options and technologies to drive further savings. We are optimistic that the expansion of the trial across our network and working with AVTECH will help us achieve our objectives.”

Jonas Saric, AVTECH’s business unit director Aventus NowCast, said: “For AVTECH it is exciting to deploy Aventus on six continents with Africa, South America and Asia joining the detailed wind-grid network that forms the basis for our product. The extension of the trial provides a vital opportunity to demonstrate the efficiency of our product in achieving fuel saving for Etihad Airways.”
