ATR obtains EASA certification on new "combi" ATR 72-600
ATR has obtained European Aviation Safety Agency certification for passenger-cargo “combi” ATR 72-600, which allows passengers and cargo to be transported simultaneously.
The new cabin configuration can carry up to 3000 kg in cargo with up to 44 passenger seats.
The combi configuration is also available for retrofit on existing aircraft.
ATR senior vice president, programmes, Thierry Casale explained “the new “combi” configuration is part of incremental product developments,” which “opens a new path to develop new markets.”
The first unit is set to be delivered by the end of the year to Airlines PNG of Papua New Guinea.
