ROUTES09: Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) has been named as the host organisation for the 18th World Routes Development Forum, which will be held in Abu Dhabi, 2012.
The news was broken at the Routes Forum in Beijing this morning. ADAC and its partners in securing the bid, the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority and Etihad are expected to make a formal announcement at a press conference in Abu Dhabi in the coming weeks.

World Routes is one of the most significant networking and development events of the aviation calendar, with over 200 airlines and more than a thousand delegates from airports and tourism authorities from all over the world.
HE Khalifa Al Mazrouei, ADAC Chairman, said: “World Routes is a key event for ADAC and an important part of our overall strategy to deliver Abu Dhabi suitable airline connectivity. Abu Dhabi is the perfect location to host such an important industry event as World Routes 2012. The Emirate of Abu Dhabi already has strong aviation and tourism sectors that are benefiting from further investment and are significant contributors to the local economy.
“World Routes Abu Dhabi is expected to attract more than 3,000 delegates from around the world and will provide the ideal opportunity to showcase to the industry the extraordinary economic transformation underway in Abu Dhabi as well as the progress on the iconic Midfield Terminal Complex at Abu Dhabi International Airport which will increase airport capacity to 40 million passengers per year.”
