The strategic alliance will provide MRO and associated logistics services, along with upgrade installations for a broad range of military aircraft. Operations, set to begin in 2016, will be based out of AMMROC’s new facility in Al Ain, UAE, which will be one of the largest military MRO centers in the world.
Fahed Al Shamesi, chief executive officer, AMMROC, said: “Strategic partnerships such as this alliance are vital to AMMROC’s long-term vision of becoming the premier MRO provider in the SAMENA region. I am confident that the selection of Rockwell Collins as one of AMMROC’s key avionics providers will not only enhance our ability to support our valued UAE and SAMENA customers, but also advance our role as the region’s aircraft MRO expert.”
Claude Alber, vice president and managing director, Europe, Middle East and Africa for Rockwell Collins, said: “Our proven expertise in avionics MRO, along with AMMROC’s strong relationships with military customers in this region and its state-of-the-art facilities, are a winning combination for all parties. This new endeavor with AMMROC is part of a larger commitment by our company to bring new capabilities and jobs to the region.”
