The Airbus A340 aircraft came to AMAC initially for a C8 Maintenance check but an additional partial refurbishment was also requested which consisted of woodwork restoration, renewed flooring, and implementation of changed seat configurations.

The woodwork, ncluding, but not limited to, side-ledges, top surfaces, in all forward VIP zones was completely sanded down and re-varnished. All the carpets were replaced in the same area.  The existing first class cabin, which features fabric first class seats, was re-configured from two rows to three rows providing an additional two further seats in this class.  AMAC also carried out a complicated re-location of the aft partitions separating the first and business class areas, which required re-pitching of the Business Class seats.  In the aft of the cabin, new storage areas were included in the economy seating area in the left hand and center areas. The right hand section of economy was equipped to handle charging devices such as mobile phones and iPad’s.

“AMAC Aerospace worked hard to make sure this project was completed in a timely manner.  Our engineering and production departments were very efficient in making the necessary changes to finalize all requests made by the client and we are proud to see this aircraft return to service” said Bernd Schramm, AMAC group chief operating officer.
