Algerian transporter crashes - 103 dead

An Algerian Hercules C130 military transporter has crashed in the mountainous area of Oum al-Bouaghi close to the Tunisian border. All 103 on board were killed according to local media.

The Hercules It was en route to Constantine from Ouargla in bad weather, an "informed source" told radio station Ennahar.
The plane was said to have been carrying military personnel and family members from the Ssouther Saharan city of Tamanrasset and had made a technical stop in Ouargla.
BBC News reported local sources as saying contact was lost with the military plane between Constantine and Oum al-Bouaghi. The UK news-service quoted senior military official, Col Lahmadi Bouguern, who said that bad weather and gusty winds were the probable cause of the crash.
The crash zone,is some 380km (240 miles) east of the capital Algiers.
