The UAE city of Al Ain has welcomed its first ever domestic schedule arrival when Rotana Jet touched down at 18:30 yesterday.

The Embraer ERJ145 regional jet made the 30-minute flight from Abu Dhabi International Airport to Al Ain.

Al Ain – part of the Abu Dhabi emirate – is becoming an aerospace cluster city and is the home to aerostructure manufacturer Strata and the Horizon flight academy.

Al Bateen based Rotana Jet will now operate twice-a-day flights to Al Ain as well as daily flights to Fujairah International Airport, which began services last week.

Flights to Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah and Al Ruwais are due to follow soon.  The Brazilian-built ERJ145 has 50 seats and in the Rotana layout has comfortable 31” seat pitch.
