The results showed an order intake worth €39.1 billion (USD43 billion), with the order book valuing at €978 billion, with 183 net commercial aircraft orders, and gross orders of 227 aircraft.

The beginning of this half of the year started with 279 orders announced at Farnborough.

Revenues were recorded at €28.8 billion, which was supported by the strengthening US dollar hedge rate. Helicopter revenues declined by 9%, in spite of delivery of 163 units.

EBIT before one-off totalled €1,684 million, with Airbus Commercial’s EBIT before one off at €1,270 million, Helicopters EBIT before one-off at €144 million, and Defence and Space EBIT before one-off at €325 million.

Self-financed R&D expenses decreased to €1,309 million.

“Our operational focus remains squarely on the A320 and A350 ramp-ups and transition to the new engine version of the A320. Unfortunately, we have to cope with new charges on the A400M and A350 programmes,” said Tom Enders, Airbus Group chief executive officer.

Looking forward, Airbus plans to deliver 12 A380s a year from 2018, with eight A320neos being delivered in the first half of this year, and five aircraft were delivered from the A400M programme.
