Air Chiefs conference for Dubai 2015 - event confirmed

Major General Abdullah Al Hashmi, executive director of strategic analysis at the UAE's Ministry of Defence (MoD) today hosted an industry reception at the Armed Forces Officers Club and Hotel to launch the 7th Dubai International Air Chief Conference (DIAC 2015) to be held on November 7, 2015 in Dubai ahead of the Dubai Air Show.

The event is held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice president, prime minister and defence minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and is fully supported by the MoD and the UAE Air Force and Air Defense (AFAD).


Major General Abdullah briefed attendees at the industry reception about his ambitions for DIAC, which convenes air power policy-makers and industry partners, and his vision for it to become the most significant gathering of its kind.
This year's conference will address key issues of strategy and operations in air power today focusing in particular on the emerging hybrid threats challenging the world’s militaries.

Officials from the MoD and AFAD were joined at the reception by senior representatives from international industry partners such as Boeing, Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin, Saab, Dassault Aviation, Raytheon, L3, and Rolls Royce, as well as the Emirati industry leaders of EDIC, Mubadala, Tawazun, Emirates Advanced Investments Group and their subsidiaries.
Following the industry reception, Northrop Grumman announced it will continue its high level participation at DIAC 2015 as a Gold Sponsor, and Textron Systems similiarly is to continue its participation as a Silver Sponsor.
MBDA has previously signed as a Silver Sponsor and a host of other key industry partners are expected to finalize their participation in the coming weeks.
