Air Cairo to operate seven weekly flights from Germany to Hurghada

Air Cairo has announced it will be operating seven weekly direct flights from Dusseldorf, Stuttgart and Hanover to the Egyptian city of Hurghada throughout 2014.

The flights will commence operations on Airbus A320s on May 3 2014. 

Hossam Kamal, the minister of Civil Aviation announced said: "The ministry is adopting new marketing and operating strategies with the aim of encouraging and supporting Egyptian airliners to operate to Egyptian touristic cites, this comes within the mutual cooperation between the ministries of aviation and tourism to boost the development process and to promote tourism in Egypt to serve national objectives and strategies of Egypt.” 

He added: "We are counting on the operation of these regular flights in boosting  the German tourism to Egypt, especially since the German tourism is an important market for Egypt , and we are working hard with the Ministry of Tourism in order to create a favourable atmosphere for the return of the flow of tourists to normal traffic in the coming months .” 

Yasser El Ramly, chairman of Air Cairo, said:  “This scheduled operation is a promising step in tourism promotion methods and avoids the disadvantages of operating charter flights  and provides alternatives for tourists and tour operators alike.”
