ACI announces strong global passenger growth

Airports Council International (ACI) has announced that global passenger traffic has seen moderate growth, and air freight volumes are slowly increasing.

Statistic have shown that global airport passenger traffic increased by 3.4% in April, while international passenger traffic grew faster than the domestic segment at 3.8%, and total passenger traffic grew by 6.2% when compared to the previous year.
 
The Middle East showed strong growth throughout.
 
Passenger traffic in the United Arab Emirates and Qatar grew by 7.5% and 20.2% respectively, whilst Doha continued to be the fastest-growing airport in the region (+20.2% or +507,000 passengers), followed closely by Dubai (+7.2% or + 468,000 passengers).
