Posted 31 May 2017 · Add Comment

Abu Dhabi Duty Free is offering passengers during the Ramadan season with various activities and initiatives aimed at spreading the spirit of the holy month throughout the airport.

Screens across the airport terminals will be showing videos on the habits and traditions strengthened in Ramadan, and several entertaining activities will also be taking place. These include: live weavers, displays of Al Ghadeer traditional UAE crafts and the unique woven products of the local brand Tegaya which is supported by the Khalifa Foundation; a Ramadan themed Souq in Terminal 3; and famous UAE cartoon characters, Hamdoon and Hamda will be in the airport greeting and interacting with young passengers. A traditional photo booth will also be available for all passengers to enjoy, as well as fragrance pop-up shops by local brands, Ajmal and Amouage.

The food and beverage outlets will also be supporting the Ramadan theme by offering special Iftar menus at discounted prices, and water and dates will be distributed at the time of fast breaking. Special Ramadan gift boxes will be handed out by Choco Dates, Petit Gourmet and Zadina Dates.

For the first time ever, Abu Dhabi Duty Free will be offering 10% off all duty free purchases made online during the month of Ramadan. Abu Dhabi Duty Free’s website, www.ADDF.ae, enables travelers to shop online from where ever they are, prior to their arrival at the airport. The online store offers the most popular products varying from beauty, fragrances, food and confectionary, to jewelry, sunglasses, watches, souvenirs, and toys. It allows passengers to browse, shop and pay online for their desired items, and pick them up from designated collection points conveniently located inside Abu Dhabi Duty Free. Products are available for guests departing, arriving, or transiting through the airport, and those who are using the exclusive VIP terminal.

Saoud Al Shamsi, SVP Commercial at Abu Dhabi Airports, said: “Ramadan is a great season to reflect on the values and traditions embedded in the UAE culture and to allow our international mix of passenger to get a taste of the authenticity it brings. Our goal is to continue to develop the airport environment by not only offering our guests irresistible shopping deals, but also giving them the opportunity to experience what Abu Dhabi as a destination has on offer, whether in hospitality, luxury, or entertainment.”
