2nd International Aviation Management Conference opens in Dubai

Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chairman and chief executive, Emirates Airline and Group, Emirates Aviation University yesterday opened its 2nd International Aviation Management Conference (IAMC) in Dubai.

In its 2nd edition, the three-day conference will bring together industry leaders, researchers and aviation management professionals to tackle the challenges and opportunities currently facing the aviation industry. 

“Aviation is rapidly growing in the MENA region, challenging perceptions globally and posing new questions every day. The IAMC provides a great platform for aviation influencers to put these hot topics on the table and look at them from a different angle. It’s an opportunity to discuss, brainstorm and identify future challenges and growth prospects,” said Dr Ahmad Al Ali, Vice Chancellor – Emirates Aviation University. 

“We are proud to once again host this conference in its 2nd year, which reaffirms our commitment to remain the centre of aviation excellence in the region.” 

Keynote speakers included Adel Al Redha, Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer- Emirates Airline, Hussein Dabbas, Regional Vice President, Africa & Middle East – IATA and Dr. Norbert Lohl, Certification Director, European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). 

The IAMC 2014 is hosted in partnership with Dubai Duty Free (DDF), the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), Dubai Police and Le Meridian hotel.
